Hi

have just bought a Freeman 23 which has the watermota 1100 crossflow engine.

There is a pressurised cold water system but no hot water. Has anyone fitted a Caolrifier to one of these boats and how difficult was it?

i only need hot water for the galley and sink in the heads when on shore power - is it possiblt to just install an electric immersion type heater without the engine connections?

many thanks in advance....

Yes, not only possible but simpler than using the engine coolant, look for a small 22l or 25l one with a 750 or 850 watt heating element. That said you may as well at least get one capable of using the engine coolant even if you wait a while before installing that part, the Watermotor is based on a Ford so will have a facility to tap into the coolant.

Thanks. I'm not really bothered about having engine heated water as I only need hot water when moored in my berth so this seemed to be the most simple way of doing it.
