Hydrographic offices i different countris have different ways share charts.
In Norway the charts (that have been mostly financed by the tax payers) is available online.
There are several providers of free chart data on line
http://www.norgeskart.no/ is run by the Norwegian chart authorities and should be updated.
These charts are great for planning & dreaming
The menus are only available in Norwegian, so here is a translation.
Søk = Search
Land = Land
Sjø = Sea
Flybilder = Aerial photos
There are two types of Sea charts
Hovedkart = Main charts
Elektron sjøkart = ENC
Today hoved kart worked OK but ENC seemed to have some problems displaying
Another source for online charts that I have found that works OK is this http://kart.gulesider.no/
Here you will find Swedish and Norwegian charts.
For those who are using iOS or Android there is a free app that give free access to Norwegian charts, read more here https://www.ecc.no/nb/navida
