Hi all,

I find myself with the period June 17th to 27th (inclusive) free, and want to do some more cruising from the present home port of Woolverstone (near Ipswich), just gently exploring no farther afield than Lowestoft and the Broads to the North, and the Medway to the South.

I prefer not to cruise alone, so am looking for someone or some people who can come along for all or part of the time.

The boat is a Freeman 32 Mk 1 (1970 aft cabin cruiser), twin Thornycroft Fords, comfy, with modern nav and safety gear. I'm a 36 year-old professional (male), with good sense of humour already installed, and a relaxed approach to cruising, but a keen eye to safety.

Single people or couples welcome to reply, no age limits (I've enjoyed cruising with teenagers and 70s-plus). The forward V-berths (drop down into a double) are available, I'll be in the separate aft cabin.

It'll be a relaxed itinerary, cruising no more than a few hours a day, and spending some nights in marinas, some on buoys, some at anchor. Evening eating often on board, sometimes ashore (not an expensive trip).

This might suit South-coast based people fancying a look at the East, or yotties who fancy seeing what motor-boating is like, 'student types' who have spare time on their hands, or anyone else who simply loves being on the water! Although I'll be skippering, we'll share helming duties etc.

Ideally, of course, a twenty- or thirty-something lady with a passion for 'classic' motor boats may apply...

(A man can dream, can't he?)

I'd like to hear from people who have some experience - whether just a few days on someone else's boat, or YMs, all welcome to respond.

Please either reply to the thread, or PM me here!
