fragrant sleeping bags

mist them with 'fabreeze' when needed.....let dry and jump in.

It takes until post 41 for someone to hit the nail on the head :D

Yep, give 'em a good airing from time to time, Febreze if they get the least bit whiffy and replace every few years

Spent 40 nights in my beeping slag last year and it smells just fine

(I smell 'orrible of course but the bag is no problem)

I've used my 3 seasons mummy bag quite a lot this year and it's beginning to smell like the interior of a charity shop! I'll try the Febreeze idea for the smell but I'm thinking of getting a new non-mummy one anyway. I find it claustrophic not being able to turn within the bag. The ones with the hood from Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9276268.htm look good. Maybe Santa will oblige although he's already blown 600 quid on a 3D smart TV.

The point of a mummy bag is that they turn with you. Especially if there is a hood, otherwise you wake up and its very dark!

The cubs find they are quite good for playing slugs!

Duvet every time. If anyone comes for the weekend, I try to discourage them from bringing a sleeping bag - why would I want something that's been in their damp loft or garage for 11.75 months of the year on our boat, when I could provide a clean duvet cover that gets washed after use and then lives in the linen cupboard?
Also, there comes a time in people's lives when they have to get up in the night - much easier just to fling off the duvet. So I'm told.

Tip of the week !

Mrs Scruffs and I use a duvet cover as a liner...we open it up and get inside it ...inside the sleeping bag, (s) as it were ....a double if we are 'a deux' or a single if it's just me.

Take it home and a quick wash...job done...keep a spare on board and rotate as required..it akes up no space at all...also adds another layer of insulation....mmmm ...toastie...

Tip of the week....we also take the duvet cover when travelling and using budget hotels......nuff said !!
