Hi we are looking at buying this boat for water sports but also an all rounder for fine weather coastal sea use. I have not be able to find out the design category and am concerned about its sea going ability having read some bow rider posts. Can anyone advise what the likely ce design category would be and thus boats suitability for use in the Solent, as we know it can be unpredictable and i don't want to get caught out.

It's probably a cat c boat, maybe even cat b (but I doubt it) it'll be fine for the use you describe.

Crikey that is a 26 foot boat as a bow rider that is a monster and will be absolutely fine as you describe. In fact it will be more than fine. Many people use 17 footers for the sort of use you are talking about

These large bowriders are becoming popular. The larger ones have a lot more freeboard at the bow so are better in inshore waters than the smaller ones. As long as you take the bow cover with you and it has some form of door or partition to the bow (to stop an icy blast coming into the cockpit when the temperature drops) it will be fine as a day boat for fine days.
