Hi all
Just thought I'd share that I eventually found a minor, but annoying, leak into my mid-berth cabin, which I've been trying to track down for the last year.
The symptoms was a drip down the cabin wall behind the roof/side moulding on my Jeanneau Prestige 30s. The leak occasionally led to some damp bedding, but I managed to minimise the potential damage by moving the bedding and using some cloths to wick it into some moisture absorbing crystals.
I tried the usual methods of using a hose on the cabin roof, windows, deck fittings etc with no joy; I even bought a conduit camera thingy to see if I could spot where it was getting in.
Anyway, I have eventually found the source; the water was coming in through the cover for the drop-in horn which is flush fitted into the side of the cockpit/wheelhouse. The horn cover is meant to have a waterproof membrane, but it was seeping slowly overtime, eventually dripping out of the internal casing, and running down the internal side of the hull, and eventually down into the mid-cabin.
Anyway, I thought I'd share in case you are struggling to find a leak; you never know it may be coming from your drop-in horn (assuming you have one).
