if you put the word out on 8104 on the morning net i'm sure someone will know where she belongs.

on the other hand, 'found' dogs are common out there. the manager of island water world in st maarten has a beautiful doberman they found in a skip (dumpster) in venezuela. it's very effective in deterring thieves!

Thank you for your help. this dog is probably a little different as it was found in the water off st John......

Please excuse my ignorance but what is the 8104. I am not a boater, I was hoping that someone on this forum might pick up my message and start it networking into the caribbean.

My guess is that some family lost their dog in one of our recent storms, except for the strain of staying afloat, she appears very healthy for an 11 year old dog. Not usually the type we see dumped down here.

Thank you

sorry, jumped to conclusions. there is a safety and security net in the caribbean run by an american lady called melody which operates at 0800 on 8.104 MHz. it is a general forum for important information among cruisers.

most cruisers out there have the necessary single sideband radio and will pass the message on for you. chances are that the loss has already been reported.
