While visiting a charity shop in Ferragudo (near Portimao, Algarve) a few days ago, the manageress noted that we were yachties, ( the give-away must have been the anti-fouling spotted hat and shirt, and shambling gait
), and offered an old yacht log book for disposal.
The log book was from ‘Swift of Penpol’ , a 41 foot Ketch, built Penpol 1979, and covers a period of approximately 5 years (on and off) from late 1983 to 1988, while cruising from Falmouth to the Azores, Madeira, the Algarve and Western Med.
Quite a detailed log with names of owner, crew leaving and joining etc., haul outs and repairs.
If there is anyone out there who has an interest, perhaps through family connections, and if you want it, send me a pm and I will post it to you.
