I know a few people have remote cameras on their boats. Recently I have had some issues but wasn’t quite sure where it was.

When in the U.K. I get remote notifications of movement from the cameras. But can never log on to the cameras anymore. Always says they are ‘off’.

when in Mallorca and on 4g exactly the same. However whenever I connect to the wifi in the apartment I can see the boat and apartment cameras (they are on independent wifi connections). The apartment is a std broadband connections.

has there been any changes to any connections from U.K. wifi/4g connections to those in spain/Mallorca. As in they prevent it? Maybe I need to sort a VPN?

It is worth understanding how these IoT (inc Cameras) work.
This is the case for most devices that require remote connections from outside LAN/WiFi networks like the network that you have at home using your home router.
When these devices power up, they connect to a server which is usually run by the manufacturer of that device (sometimes the server is in China!!!)
Once a connection is made between the device and the server, data can flow freely between the server and the device (the camera in this case) - even through the NAT firewall of a home router.
So all an app (on a mobile or a desktop/laptop) has to do is connect to the manufacturer's server and insert itself into the data stream.
This will give your app access to the remote device - even through a firewall.
THERE IS A HUGE SECURITY RISK HERE.
If the manufacturer is unscrupulous or they get their software/firmware hacked, your home LAN/WiFi network can be at risk of being attacked.
There are loads of IoT devices now on the market - even the likes of Amazon's Alexa works like this.
To reduce my risk, I have secure networks and insecure networks.
My insecure networks cannot connect to my secure networks.
All my IoT devices are connected to my insecure networks whilst my PCs, Servers and Mobiles are connected to my secure networks.
I know this is a bit "over the top" for most people but this issue is fact so you may not want to incorporate IoT devices in your systems.

Back to the point, I suspect that the Foscam server was't working properly but now it is.
That would explain why your Foscam camera is now working whilst it wasn't before.

Cheers hurricane.

I think I had a few issues (one camera was unplugged, then another had wifi issues) and not thought about any main foscam server issue. Which is quite possible.
