Quick update

Today, I drained my gearbox oil, which seemed clean and free of bits.

I then, following a suggestion from another Harmony owner, worked the shaft back and fore by hand while engaging and disengaging gear. This is to help dislodge any dirt particles from the clutch plates.

Refilled with 10/40 mineral diesel engine oil. I overfilled the box to about 10mm past the correct mark, as when I measured against the outside of the gearbox using the dipstick, there is not much depth of oil in there.

I then spent a bit of time adjusting the throttle cable end, and throttle stop, to get a good even idle speed at 800rpm.

Result: engaging forward drive normally again. I think I'll perform oil changes much more often than the book says from now on and see how it goes.
