Just a quick thanks to Rob for bringing the Eber down to the marina today and to Maggie for the cup of coffee and cake later on.Have just ordered all the other bits and bobs from Ebay to get everything going, including a Mini Modulator and some stainless exhaust pipe.

A much less expansive (or should that be 'abusive') post than I feared might appear. Oldgit, RR123 and Gavi all in one place at one time, and without a pub being in spitting distance, must be a fairly rare occasion - amazing what can happen when a little second hand trading can be arranged, especially when Fred is going to save a few bob!

I must confess that we did end up in a pub, MANY hours later after enduring shopping in Reading (for beer) and a rather chilly but entertaining game of schoolboy rugby at Shiplake.

Did you finish wiring that plug?

Went fairly well today.

Fabricated eberspacher bracket today out of bit of bent metal, mounted heater on ply panel and secured in depths of boat, connnected power and checked fan and glow plug .Just got to wait for exhaust and fuel feed pipe to turn up then cobble up a skin fitting.

My Pleasure. May you have many toastie evenings on board!

Good to see the new SS Tony as well, a very sturdy and elegant craft!

And, (for once) I shan't blame Gavi entirely for the headache (c;

Am not paying £60.00 for a manky skin fitting.

Am now in full "Einstein mode" regards design of Oldgit " custom exhaust" fitting, will post pix when finished.

Heat heat heat.

"May you have many toastie evenings on board!"

Thats it sorted.......eberwahtsit up and running, started up first time and kept a decent temp in cabin even today.

Mind you took me 3 hours to do a 10 min journey home due to that pathetic light sprinkling of snow........FFS. some drivers are useless.

My bilges look clean. :(

"Well done - you did that almost as quickly as it took B1 to change a plug..." :):):)

..and on Sunday it only took me 4 hours merely to run the loom of one of those mini controllers from one side of the boat to the other via the bilges, having to dismantle half the boat in the operation.
The end of the wiring loom now dangles forlornly just short of the heater, I then lost interest bigtime and went home.
Minus 8c here at moment.

Caught short again Fred?

As for the rest of the uninformed comments regarding me changing a plug.... so much I could say but best left unsaid :D

H,mm,we are still waiting for our tank pick up pipe.At moment eberspacher is running from upturned lemonade bottle cable tied to boat rail.Used nearly half a pint the other day and will probably need to siphon some more of the precious liquid out on my main tank tomorrow.
Glass for doors has arrived but door frames are presently lost in the middle of darkest Kent due to man making them removing tip of finger and ending up at East Grinstead, blimming inconsiderate I call it.However have been assured that no blood has dripped onto my new doors.
