With Xmas on our doorstep, I was wandering whether any of the London members fancied inviting Kim and his team at Hollamby Towers out for a few jars to thank them for providing us with this essential service over the past few years.

I can't be the only one that is amazed at the dedication shown by them at all hours of the day and night to keep these fora running 24/7, not to mention the patience in dealing with our fairly eccentric ways. It therefore seems only fitting that we thank them for this or pay for them to go out on their own so that they can complain about us in private. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

clearly that has Barry's attention / vote then!

Venue sorted (within sight of their offices) - going to liase over dates or just tell 'em it's free booze and assume they will turn up?

The other way round. These forums are provided free of charge for us to play in. It's not even required that forumites actually buy the magazines that fund this site. We owe Kim and Paul a debt of gratitude for the hours they put in running this place, that are well outside normal working hours. Kim and Paul are often on here after midnight

Totally agreed .. as long as I am here then I'll be there(really need to read that one again!!) ( But I'm not buying Paul a drink until he gives us our whites back -:))

All right, we seem to have agreed its a good idea, so how about the suggestion of a venue from the Forum Elders?
I will travel from the Mud Bog of Essex to anywhere London-ish. And I hate London, so that says something for my gratitude.

You deserve an award for this post.
An OBN perhaps?

Dare I ask what an OBN is?

My problem is that I've just got a new contract up in Crewe for the next 2 weeks but am happy to contribute to the kitty or will attend if it's after the 13th. I was looking forward to a quiet December! Ho Hum

No chance of a quiet december mate, I'm coming over!!
The roar of my triumph, will be heard all over twickenham!!!

Comments and idea really appreciated

It would be fun to meet up, whoever winds up paying.

Paul is away until Tuesday but let's knock some dates about and see if something suitable emerges.

Yes, we are by Blackfriars but getting about town not an issue.

There will always be a great Aberdonian welcome for you of a feast of food and drink.....

...and everything reasonably priced! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
