You keep out of this, Compie! I have yet to meet anyone from the Netherlands or Scandinavia who couldn't use English better than most (>50%) of us. Sad but true.

I don't have to keep me out of anything REMEMBER! This is a PUBLIC FORUM !

First of all i am of Belgian nationality speaking all my life DUTCH! ( yes not only in the Netherlands they speak DUTCH also about 6.000.000 Belgians do ) so i think i know very well what i am talking about here ! There is a big difference between speaking and writing a language correctly !

Maybe some of the members here should roll their thongue 500 times before writing something down and this has nothing to do with spelling (but that is another discussion) !

Compie, Wiggo was most definitely talking with complete reverence about the fact that you guys are so proficient at our language (and others) while we are so inept at picking up your languages. I tried learning Dutch in the seventies because I was so embarassed that everyone could speak English and I always try to speak at least a few words out of courtesy if nothing else. At least now, with some Indonesian under my belt, I have picked up a few more Dutch words.

The "You keep out of this, Compie!" should have had a /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif after it as it was said in jest.
