Forum Ranks and a bit of respect

Any respectable organisation should have A Bar.
Therefore I bagzy the post Of Barsteward.
Said place will also have A Lounge.
Where peeps can debate most important topics ie Col Regs, Flag thingies, Antifouling etc etc etc etc etc etc .
An area for Mobos (Real posh with large optics and Champagne buckets liberally scattered.) /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Oh and a little corner for the Raggies to hang there wet clobber.+ some old tea chests to perch on and bits of string everywhere to practise getting all knotted up!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Plus as Barsteward I could ban any peeps that I find dissagreable ie the ones that don,t say "Oh and one for yourself you Barsteward"

Yeh I could be a right Barsteward! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I would like to be the bloke in charge of the rum rations. Reckon that could make me quite popular...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Edit - am I too late?

Re: Proposed Ranks -

Seems odd that there are more ocifers than enlisted men and NCOs combined.

But then again maybe not.

If I volunteer for Captain of the List does it mean I have to hang off one side of the boat all the time?

If my application for Purser is accepted, my first job will be to sack the entire company - they obviously haven't got enough to do.

Failing that, I'll go for Vice-Commodore with responsibility for codifying unwritten rules and dreaming up arbitrary new rules. (E.g. Unwritten rule: 1. no-one who has posted more than 5000 messages shall be accused of trolling or flaming, however reprehensibly he rebuffs impertinent newbies. Arbitrary new rule: 2. no-one with less than 1000 posts shall comment on the impropriety of other forumites.)

Re: Proposed Ranks -

Mansfield Park.
[ QUOTE ]
"Do you know anything of my cousin's captain?" said Edmund; "Captain
Marshall? You have a large acquaintance in the navy, I conclude?"

"Among Admirals, large enough; but," with an air of grandeur; "we know
very little of the inferior ranks. Post captains may be very good sort
of men, but they do not belong to us. Of various admirals I could tell
you a great deal; of them and their flags, and the gradation of their
pay, and their bickerings and jealousies. But in general, I can assure
you that they are all passed over, and all very ill used. Certainly, my
home at my uncle's brought me acquainted with a circle of admirals. Of
Rears, and Vices, I saw enough. Now, do not be suspecting me of a pun,
I entreat."

Edmund again felt grave, and only replied, "It is a noble profession."

Re: Proposed Ranks -

Do we have The Honorable Moderator and The Most Honorable Site Administrator?
When I showed such great deference under a different pseudonym on a forum mainly run by Uncle Sam's nephews , I got drummed out of the Brownies by the mirthless souls - they took themselves very seriously.

Re: Proposed Ranks -

Who's turn is it in the barrel today?
can we have a succulent young thing this time please.

and no calouses please.......... anywhere!

I was once fortunate enough to be skipper on an over-crewed boat across the channel. I slept all the way, waking only for watch changes, chart checking, words of encouragement etc and back to the bunk.

From all this I deduced I was born Senior Officer material and look forward to a high rank within your organisation.
