crumbs! whilst standing at the lock gates this afternoon I think just about most east coast forum items came through . . . it's gonna be another messy night! :D

ian n Sarah......... currently on d8 pontoon (with mum n dad! )

Three items from the forum went to the Rose Inn at Shotley Village last night.
The pub is now run by Sarah (ex Shipwreck).
Sarah picked us up from near the Bristol Arms in the pub minibus.
We had a very enjoyable evening with very good steaks and a good atmosphere.
Sarah ran us back to the Bristol Arms just before midnight.
She has been asked not to come on to the marinas private road so we walked that bit.

The Bristol Arms reopened last night as well.

Hmm, won't be back until next week, probably not in Shotley until October. Hope someone is still there!

Hi Jim.
There is a thought that we could have the Laying Down Supper at The Rose.
It would be the last Saturday of October.
Sarah is up for it.

It'll do for me. We have been scouring the tat shops for some suitable giveaways.

I am currently in the Atamer Resort, Gemlik with Mrs FC. She flies back to England tomorrow.

And you still have time to post on the forum :confused::confused:

Sad to relate, its not all beer and skittles.

I have been on the phone and PC most of the day trying to sort out a jobstopper for tomorrow. Nice surroundings though, and the AC in the room works well. Pity they haven't got 240v by the pool.

Sorry we didn't join you (another time, we hope), but after a tough week we needed to get out in the boat to blow the cobwebs away. In fact we had a gentle sail a mile or two up the river, dropped the hook, and slept almost the whole 24 hours until it was time to drift back again!
