Something of a newbie here, so please forgive if this has been dealt with countless times already.....

This forum seems to be in a very strange format - the threads not repositioning to the top after a new post. Does anyone else find it harder than it need be to follow a thread?

That sorts them ok within an individual page but not across several pages.

When viewing "Active Topics", I end up with item 25 [i.e. the bottom item on Page 1] having an earlier "last post date/time" than item 26 [i.e. the top item on Page 2] and so on.

Just tried that as I don't use Acive Topics and yes you're right, must be a glitch there somewhere - it may be worth reposting on the Website News and Feedback forum for one of the tech guys to have a look at. Not a problem when you view the forums individually though.

I find the same, but I've always assumed it's because of the time spent reading the first page. While I've been reading it someone else has put in a post higher up, forcing a post to move from page 1 to page 2.

The Volvo Owners Club forum does this very well, don't know whether PBO can be adjusted to do as you suggest, probably a different bit of software. VOC also has a facility for maintaining long standing threads at the top of each page. Only downside with VOC approach is that sometimes people pretend to add a response just to "bump" their fave topic up to the top again........!

Thanks for drawing my attention to the VOC site and its associated forum. How did I not already know about it???

[/ QUOTE ] The same can happen on here as well but it is against the rules and offenders will be "dealt with"!

I dont think that would be against the rules. It is common courtesy. What is also a nice closure is for the final outcome of a problem to be added. What is against the rules though is adding a post to an old topic and then immediately deleting it. The topic then comes to the "top of the pile again" for no apparent reason
