Just bought a firkin beautiful 252SS . It’s got the mercruiser Seacore drive but it has a hole at the front of the lower case and when you flush it water squirts out. I’ve looked at all the avenues for info but non seem conclusive.
So does anyone have a Bravo 3 X drive leg who knows the correct flushing method. I’d like to get to the bottom of this before serious paranoia sets in.
Got to say this is the fruition of a long held dream.
Wahoo!!!

This thread needs some photos and vids.

I think I'll have to start flying my Formula Burgee once more.

Yes just bought it off some con man in Canvey Island. He spun a story about having it from new in 1994. sent a deposit due to COVID and when I got there last week was more than a little displeased. Anyhow it’s the only one I could find and just required some tlc. 2 days of cleaning and maintenance and it looks the bolox. Out on Sunday and even Hunnypie loved it, 50 mph thru the chop ,quiet and dry. I’ll post some pics when I get one of the kidsto show how

Yes goog I agree and feel totally sanguine re the con man , don’t think he ever got it wet. The provenance is all due to the original owner who clearly cherished the boat. As you say 50 mph what’s to worry about.
Wahoo!!

He pretended to be the original owner and also said the engine was replaced in 2012 but actually it was 2010.minor detail I guess.
When it was pointed out that I had seen the original advert much reduced fro m his asking price he said he had had to spend in excess of 3 grand on further electrical works which had actually been done by the original owner. Still very happy just a shame that some have to be less than truthful. Result , we’re happy and he got his money.
Coming from an 805 jeanneau ( which I loved by the by) to bouncing through the chop at 50 mph is a great salve.
Wahoo!
