A friend is looking at buying a Princess 30DS.

It's a 1982 boat with twin petrol Volvo 140hps on outdrives. It has been on the river for some time.

The broker is asking £29950 which will no doubt be open to offers in this market.

What does the panel think. I said it should be OK for a trip down the Thames and a bit of light coastal hopping in the right conditions.

30DS is actualy a superb seaboat, however engine reliablilty will be a factor now. I would have thought £20-25K max if its clean and tidy.

I agree whole-heartedly with Chris. In this financial climate with fuel prices as they are, I would be looking to paying a bit over £22,000 but if its particularly nice up to £25,000.
Pay special attention to the outdrives as these are very expensive to repair.

If its is the 30DS from Windsor, cant remember the name now, it's a colleague of mine. He spent I would estimate 10k min over the last year bringing her to excellent condition. Headlinings all replaced windows resealed. To be honest a lot of work I thought did not need doing. He decided he did not like the locks on the Thames so is looking at going to the Norfolk Braoads hence the boat sale.

Worth a look if its the same boat

It would appear to be the same vessel...

Lol actually there was nothing wrong IMHO with the existing one he had. It is his first boat and he wanted everything pristine. Just found the advert. I think he paid 33/34k when he bought her and then spent fortunes but spoke with him and I think he is looking to drop the price to sell now
