Forestay foils sticky?

I am finding that I need to use a lot of force to get my genoa's bolt rope up the foils of the furling gear.
What can I do to reduce the friction?
All suggestions gratefully received.

Wash the slot out and when dry spray with silicon spray. Teflon grease on the bolt rope won't hurt either.

Yup - exactly what I've just done. I used one of those non-stick scouring pads and acetone to clean the track. Had one of my mates haul me up the forestay on the bosun's chair. Cleaned the track on the way up and Teflon sprayed on the way back down.

I have a 1mt length of old bolt rope with a nylon cord attached. At the start of every season it gets a good spray with teflon grease or similar. I've sown a whippinp loop into the top and then its easy.... Attach the halyard to the loop which comes out of the slot and thread the bolt rope into your track. Haul it up with halyard and then down with the cord, respray and repeat. Easy single handed job to do before you start to struggle with the sails.The whole thing takes up no space at all.

My length of boltrope had a couple of strips of scotchbrite sewn to it to gibe the groove a good scrub out.
