Does anyone know who stocks the little pins (sort of hinge pins) they are 8mm diameter and aprox 25mm long with a longitudinal split and chamfered ends to allow them to be tapped into the hinge holes of the hatch where they force themselves open to hold in place.

I hope this is clearer while you are reading it than when I do. Help please, it is a simple every day item and I don't want to buy a new hatch for the sake of not being able to buy two 30p pins.

They are called roll pins ..used extensively in the motor trade. A decent garage will carry a selection,or Screwfix do a selection box (234 pcs) for 12.99 .Don't think they will be stainless however. Try your local garage or motor factor.

I smiled sweetly at a garage man and he gave me the roll-pin I needed. Never seen them in stainless.

or talk nice to your local gun-smith

or contact a company called "Spring Stop" in Glasgow - they stock a range of stainless roll pins and can source "odd" sizes if needed.
