Can't remember when exactly it was presented (early naughties?), but I would have thought that the Ferretti Altura was one of the very first boats adopting the "modern" foredeck seating, as we know it now.

It was interesting that no one thought about it for seventeen years from 1986 till 2003, and this might have happened because Posillipo built only one or two of those 83 Technema and if I know well they where sold in the USA.

That must explain why I can't for the life of me remember that 83 foredeck you're talking about!

I think this recent trend was started by Galeon on their 50, by the time of the last Paris boat show every boat had them

I guess it how you use your boat .
In the Med especially with guests on board I can see the appeal more so on a bigger FB like the pic above .

Not so sure it s as workable as you come down size wise .Theres an awkwardness about the aesthetic s ,not just the foredeck area --whole thing on 50 ,s --as mentioned they look top heavey and with the helm pushed fwd ( to max out on saloon vol )
On the water in a berth that new Sunseeker Hat 53 ? Or what ever ? Looks disproportionate ----but like Chris Bangles BMW,s maybe it just takes time to adjust ones aesthetic expectations dunno ?

Any how in the pic above I note 8 fenders tied to the bow rail .Personally I would have liked a big enough fender locker or a bow locker with crane for a tender "moulded in "
Assuming there's a table at the stern and one on the fly as well as a couple more inside ----for folks to spread out .

I think you will find that they are all specific to particular boats.
Just get something made up by a local upholsterer.

A local GRP guy should be able to fabricate the support for the cushions.
