I wish I had not bothered replying. This one is going to be another epic saga. With a lot of wailing again.

I think bubbles is right unless the 'engineer' puts his foot on the seacock which he has installed without the protective collar and it breaks off then we have to all intents and purposes heard the last of the seacock saga and it will morph into the generator saga. If the former happens it will morph into the generator engineer sunk my boat and my insurance won't pay out because of an incorrectly installed seacock.
