Outboards are specifically designed for the purpose, made of alloy (almost 100%). No flexible driveline (running in bellows) as the whole unit turns, easy access for repair and service and so forth. Fitting or replacing is so easy (even for thieves). Fresh Water cooing not an option (and not needed as it a) withstands seawater and b) drains itself to sea level when shut off).
I had an old Suzuki vitara 1.6 petrol. Started on the button, never let me down. Even easy to bump start with a flat battery.
It was the Best jeep I ever owned.
Range rover vogue...no comment.
Lada....my sis car.........jokes are true.
Landy...." .....................better than range rover.
Honda CRT....unreliable, prob. With Ecu, never sorted, cut out on the motorway several times.
So Suzuki make very good stuff.
What you are saying makes good sense, You get what you pay for.
