Good Morning Folks,
A 1973 Nelson 34 MKII, with a pair of Ford D series 6 cylinder, 125hp engines, with 407 and 378 hours apparently, has hit the market.
My last boat hit me very hard in the pocket when the Bukh 20 needed a lot of work, and then finally gave up after two more years.
So I thought I'd ask what the spares situation is for these Ford engines? I've already seen exhaust gasket prices for example, and they are more or less 'free' compared to the Bukh prices. I've also seen ~A$300 for six piston sets. Again - you wouldn't get the head off the Bukh for that money. I'm hoping this is is a similar story throughout.
Can anyone assure me that these motors are maintainable?
I'm thinking they might be sourced from the D series of trucks, in which case I might be in luck.
