A long shot, does anyone know if parts for the old style Force Ten cookers are available? I may need an oven thermostat or the complete burner. Alternatively, who made the burners, or can a newer burner be fitted to the old cookers?
I will phone Penguin Engineering, in case they can help, but a new like for like replacement is available for a mere £1900, then only if you shop around, :( so probably worth fixing.

It wouldn't surprise me if the thermostat was a generic one used on a lot of cookers.
If you are able to get the old one out it might have GCN with a number. Do a search on that.
GCN stands or did for Gas Council Number.

I have been down this road, including talking to the manufacturer. The burners and other spares are not available. The new burners can be fitted but you need a stainless disc to weld to the old cooker hob so that they can be fitted.

From what I can tell the thermostat on the old over was just a temperature gauge and you had to manually adjust the gas knob to maintain temperature, it is like that on my old one, just a probe to a gauge.

I have my old one at home, 4 x ring type, it will never be fixed so could strip it for parts. Send me a PM.

Thank-you yes, I remember a post of old, that said the same, bur wondered if anything has changed. I have this problem with an old car, you can only get used parts. Unfortunately, it is the same bits that fail, so you take a chance with them. I will speak to Penguins and ask a gas fitter, but I am no welder. It may be time to change, good money, time and trouble and all that.

And thanks for the offer.

I am at my boat. When I get home, I will look at the parts you state in your OP. If they are of use and keep the stove going, then perhaps they buy time for you to save for a new one, if that is relevant.

I also have a full set of spares for the new model, so can compare. Some time next week.

Does a old Force 10 burner valve is similar to the new once?

Welcome to the forum Maltese Falcom

If you mean the head where the flames come out, no the old and new styles are different. The new style needs a stainless disc to be welded to the old style cooker to accept the head. It's a faff but straight forward enough for a welder that has the tools and skill.

If you mean the valves at the front where you switch the gas on and off, I think they are the same style.
