Force 4 Windward Coastal Suit

You always get what you pay for .. No one gives anything away .. Quality is the first to suffer .. Suppose it depends how long you expect it to last ..

well tbh i don't mind so long as they reach two years or so, just so long as they're waterproof until then, i have horrible memories of paying more than that for a gortex jacket when they came out and it leeked from day 1. if i get them ill post back in a year n let people know if i stayed dry or not.

I have been looking at those too. I am thinking of getting them as a present for my girlfriend. I dont expect that we would be venturing out in conditions that would push them too the limit. We will only be going out and about in the clyde on weekends and certainly not leaving when the conditions are pretty miserable. I am trying to gently ease her into sailing and not scare her off. If we were going further afield and spending much longer on the boat i feel that they would not do.

I do reckon that the quality would not be as good but as a basic waterproof piece of kit i think it will suit well.

I bought a set of the Compass bottom of the range and a Windward suit three years ago. Both still keep the wind and water out after three years of reasonably light use. In the real world, they're fine for weekend bimbling and the occasional week or two cruise of day-hops.

Let's face it, oilies are only waterproof overalls.
