Whilst in the US last year I bought a Force 10 stainless steel gas BBQ from West Marine that takes small disposable gas bottles for $110 along with 10 bottles.
Now I'm back in the UK of course I find that none of our bottles fit and I'm down to my last US one.
West marine do offer a Low pressure conversion and suitable US-European adaptor to connect to the ships main gas supply but to order these with shipping is $175.
I guess all I need is a Low pressure regulator to clamp on the end of the 8mm copper pipe that the US high pressure regulator is currently clamped onto?
Would this work or is there another solution.
Before anyone suggests it I dont want to fill the thing with coals and use as a conventional BBQ.

Many thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew, I have a Force 10 connected to the ships supply. I am at home now so I need to go to my boat and check for sure but I believe I hooked it up to a tee between the bottle and the pressure regulator, so it is working on high pressure.
I do have somewhere an H.P. hose which would connect to your barbeque but the other end has a fitting designed to fit directly to a US bottle so you would need an adapter here, or could you cut the hose and swage a European fitting on?

you should be able to connect the 8mm pipe to a piece of flexible gas hose and thence to a regulator of your choice (camping gas/ calor etc). you'll get all the bits at any good caravan shop.

i would choose camping gas because they do nice small cylinders.

Pete, I'm with you.

It’s one of life’s impossibilities to have a gas barby. You said it, all you have is a gas grill.
Rather like saying up a bit lower<s>
