How's you corrosion? How long did you have one before it failed totally: 2 years? ... or 3 years??? or ...

Mine's 11 years old and going strong - All that engine needed was proper marinisation /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

... and it ain't easy ---- In fact its quite difficult.

Mine only has superficial corrosion. The plugs are not always easy to find.
And we improved the performance by thoroughly cleaning the inaccessible parts
of the carb two years ago.

I improved starting by making the choke work properly! Apart from that it's been reliable, but my wife can't start it. Had to epoxy up the exhaust port as it had started to corrode & leak, but still OK four years later. Two of the screws that hold the fuel tank on have snapped, presumably due to corrosion.
To avoid corrosion problems, why don't manufacturers assemble stainless screws with DURALAC when fitting into aluminium???? Silly question - it's good for spares!!
