This is a lifeboat brokerage site but you never know what's going to turn up do you? Quinton Nelson is pretty much the lifeboat owners oracle.

That kind of thing would be right up my street. Don't you just love it when you an old legend like that take on some modern gin palace - and give it a good dressing down! The "more pictures" thing either didn't work, or didn't have any more pictures loaded.

I think that's the site build, it should bring up a pop-up, but actually there's only the one picture anyway. Quintons details are always a bit sparse and never any prices. I guess she's in Northern Ireland because that's where he is.

Thanks, interesting boat, at 40 knots in the 60's she would have been unbeatable on a calm day, but generally the test how she carries speed on rougher weather of course.

My researches suggest that she was built on Fairey / christina lines ie. -cold moulded mahogany by R & W Clark in Cowes.

Very perceptive John, she does look very Christina-ish, but at 28 feet I'm not sure.

Blueblazes, not posted on here much lately, is the Christina expert.

I've never heard of a 'Mooreland 28', which means nothing other than a statement about my ignorance.

Correct.
They also built larger boats to around 38 feet, at least one of which was also a Cowes-Torquay success of that same era.
