For all you fans of Greece......

Thanks Cariadco
My son just came in and found me watching an André Rieu concert.:disgust:
Id have felt less ashamed if he'd caught me watching porn !

and Yes I am hooked on Greece, just not André Rieu

We anchored last year in a Corfu bay (Kalami) with my 20 year old Son. This was our first family cruise out of the Adriatic and my Son's first visit to Greece since he was a toddler.

We were sitting on the back of the boat enjoying a sundowner when a band struck up somewhere in the distance, presumably in one of the tourist hotels or something.

As the twanging at the start of their first number commenced I said to my Son, "Ah Zorba the Greek. Must be a British party". My Son said something like "I've never heard it before." I replied, "Don't worry. By the end of this evening you'll know every single note"

As we went to bed that night, having heard Zorba at least 20 times, sometimes one rendition being immediately followed by a second rendition, my Son laughed and said "Christ Dad, I hope I never hear it again!"

And on that, we agree. :)

Ok ok, I know it's nothing to do with sailing, but everything to do with Greece...

Bet you've got a smile on your face, watching this.

Regards,

Very entertaining, love the Proms, he is a good act and popular, but not in the same league as Nicola Benedetti, or as good to look at, who's performance of Tchaikovsky-Bruch Violin concertos, three of them No. 1 in G minor had the hairs standing on my neck, she has a Stradivarois violin, worth several million pounds, on permanent loan from a Swiss banker, who only asks for her to play for him and his family in private each year. Highly recommended.
