Some good suggestions I hadn't thought of, so thanks everybody. Flat ginger beer sounds a good idea. But aren't apples the worst thing you can have because they are so acid? I was surprised by that. What's barfluer? And who can afford champers when they own a boat?
I'm now 60 and getting more prone as I get older. I find barley sugar is good in the initial stages, then plain biscuits and sips of water as somebody said. My main reason for posting was to have a variety of stuff on board to help my grandchildren and other visitors.
>>> Ginger biscuits are good.
Unfortunately all the ginger biscuits I can find are made by United Biscuits, either under the McVities brand or as supermarket own-brands. I have no desire to give that company my custom.
best ginger biccy's in the world come from asda. they only come in their multi pack of diferent cheap nasty buscuitsand they are super gingery. the single pack cheapy ginger buscuits arn't as good as multi pack ones. but the other three packs are perfectly palatable espesially if you just gonna process them for the fish.
If it's ginger biscuits you like then get a copy of Deliah Smith's Book of Cakes (Xmas prezzie for SWMBO) and try Jean's Gingernuts. Add more ground ginger than specified and allow a couple of days for the full flavour to develop. Also worth making double the quantity.
