Went there last night, and due to previous bad experiences with poor food, intended to have only a drink. Pleasantly surprised to find that the old management (Andy and Cheryl) have returned. Ended up having a great curry and several Guinness! And yes – Crew Pot is back.
I’m sure that Andy and Cheryl will have lots to work to get the Folly back to their very high standards, but they will make it.
ITS SAFE TO GO BACK. My favourite Solent eating/ watering hole is back on the list.

All of course IMHO, but give it a try, and post your findings

Regards

Alastair

That is fantastic news!
when we went there at the beginning of last season, we sensed a change as soon as we walked in. it didn't take long to find out why. we had a very disappointing meal and sulked all the way home. we actually bumped into Andy at St Mary's Stadium and told him how much he and Cheryl were being missed. they certainly have the X factor and i hope his landlords are renumerating them appropriately for their services. i am certain their return will see an upturn in the business.

thanks for passing on the good news.

Went there yesterday with some of the Mercury meet gang and thought it was good with a busy and fun buzz to the place although the capacino was horrid.

We intend to return

We went with Mercury crew also and I thought we had a friendly reception, quickly sorted table, good food service and good beer.

The bangers and mash was great, I'm sure we'll be spending many an evening in there as we have a mooring outside for August. (Cowes week at least) Give us a shout if your in the area.
