Banana Wood

[/ QUOTE ] Is that because it's easy to bend?

When did I manage to upset you?

Just ignore it, he does that sort of thing quite a lot, mostly harmless. I think pretty well any reasonable quality wood (knot free, no splits or shakes in the grain) will serve your purpose. Oak is attractive and durable, mahogany ditto but a bit more expensive especially if it's 'real' mahoganhy and not some of the inferior stuff sold under that name. Parana Pine, yes, nice stuff if you can find it. You will need to protect it from moisture and if it's nice hardwood varnish is what you need but you could use more or less anything if it's painted to suit your decor.

Whatever you choose, you need to be able to shape or bend it to fit any curvature and you will need some clamping arrangement to hold it in place while the epoxy cures.
