Cleared out the car and came across "Amulet - a charm restored and sailed to the Western Isles". I've read it twice so happy to pass on for nowt to anyone interested. PM me an address and I'll post it; a donation to a prostate cancer charity would be good.

Amulet's present owner (son of her builder) posts on here regularly, with the user name (wait for it!) Amulet. I dare say he has read it, though!

I don't think she was either. She was designed and built by the present owners father, to the best of my knowledge. She was at Pin Mill until last year but has now gone back up to Scotland

I've posted book off to Bergamot (John) so maybe he'll come in and clarify.
Could well be more than one Amulet about. This one was up in Cumbria. Dunno what happened after cruise.

On the basis of having read this thread, I bought this book and am part of the way through reading it. It really doesn't disappoint, with so many of the situations being entirely familiar to most of us with aged wooden yachts; thoroughly charming!
