I am looking at all the Amazon and ebay offerings of a good quality , preferably aluminium, trolley suitable for boxes and bags from car to pontoon. I would rather buy a serious one that lasts than a cheapy that fails after a season. It needs to fold, and also have large diameter wheels to cope with stony ground.

Any recommendations or personal experiences, please ?

Got one of the above, I have reinforced the bottom with a bit of ply.

It is perfect for a couple of oldies to transfer the heavy and bulky gear from the car to the pontoon.

I dont know how it would work on rough ground or shingle, but in NZ they are sold as beach trollies.

we also use a cart like the one is post #3 - we love it... fits in the car easily, stows in the cockpit nicely, and the best part is we don't have to return it to the marina's trolley park (it's a very long way to our berth in Kip).

That said, we're on our second... the first lost a wheel due to rust after a year, maybe 2. We've had the current one for about 4 years, so it's worth looking for the heaviest duty cart you can find.

A small point. Inflatable tyres are better for moving but the tyres on most of the barrows available now are absolute junk on split rim pressed wheels. They don't last at all and the tubes get pinched - punctured- by the wheels with monotonous regularity.

They claim to be the original and I tend to believe them:

I have both the business xl (always in the car) and the Jumbo (used professionally).
The xl is highly recommended because of the large "blade"

Thanks SvenH for the recommendation

I have a luggage trolley from the days before wheelie bags .... as well as salvaged a couple of telescopic wheel frames from broken suitcases ....

There used to be a Black & Decker works trolley .... they still around ?
