Folded sheet metal bow protector - anyone got a photo in use

I had one made by a local metal fabricator. It was made in 4 mm 316 ss.

WOW! 4mm is pretty thick and needs a big press to bend it. I think mine is 2mm which is enough to protect the fibreglass from the anchor hitting it. I don't much like the look of that slotted design, where the slots are to let you hand bend it. Far better to get a local steel fabricator to cut and bend one to shape for you. To get the right bend just get a strip of fairly thin metal and bend it by hand around the bow. The fabricator can then use it as a bending template. A piece of cardboard can be used as a template for the shape.

Had one made by our Stainless guy. Really useful especially if the anchor point sits very close of the fibreglass. Also in the process of a new bow roller arrangement to make it a little more secure and useable.

Mine was made from 2mm, laser cut and then rolled to give the shape as it bent in both directions.

Ours was made by the metal fabricator too but not quite as thick!
Mine was made by me! Bent around a cradle support by hand. The prototype was made by David of the boat named after a Yorkshire goddess called Imoutahea and his article was published in PBO a few months ago.
