With very light winds forecast and the mist due to clear by the afternoon, I thought we'd be in for a rather special trip from Brighton to Hamble on a lovely Fairline Targa 38...

About 20 minutes out from Brighton we hit a thick bank of fog. 25kts was no longer sensible! We slowed down to a safe speed and immediately got the radar up and running. Fortunately the fog didn't last too long and we were safe to speed up as we approached the Solent. The delivery was an owner assist and the proud new owner was beaming from ear to ear throughout!

Here is the video:

I hope you enjoy it!

It certainly is Paul. Mission accomplished finally! Very happy and thanks to Pete at Halcyon. Great reassuring company when I kept steering the wrong way in the fog!

Great vid yet again :encouragement: and wishing Step1 many happy memories aboard her. My very first cruise was also into a pea souper. Disorientating isn't it? :encouragement: Trying to steer by compass bearing at hull speed and then keep it in a straight line with no horizon reference isn't easy :D
