I happen, FWIW, to agree with tcm - there's too much terminal niceness (another US import) about, which doesn't really help in avoiding future nasty situations. This is not necessarily aimed at Sami/Mark, but a general comment.

The trouble is that TCM and others often attack on his assumptions not the facts.

No. I based my comments on the facts as presented. The fog was very likely on the day in question. The radar wasn't working. His crew, eyes peeled for other boats spotted the beach, so he didn't know where he was.
