Been listening to FM most of the time n the boat around Scotland (and as I type this). Clearly some poor spots (as with VHF and mobile phones), but not noticed it any worse recently. Had signal perhaps 80% of time - including the Minch and Outer Hebrides.

Hi D do you use a vhf splitter or is your aerial separate, if so mounted outside inside, near electronics,
You may have the answer to the holy grail
Cheers

I have a whip antenna on the pushpit that I use for Broadcast FM, (it's not so high, so not an aerial, just an antenna) and while the setup is good, the reception isn't. In Lochgoilhead recently, zero FM stations.
BBC radio Scotland on 810 MW is usually OK in most places, but not in Loch Ailort not Loch Torridon (August). LW 198 BBC R4 is good almost everywhere. Radio 4 also have a MW outlet somewhere on the west coast (at least that's where I've heard it).

Near to the mainland from Crinan down to Gigha there’s not much DAB or FM Scottish reception (eg no Radio Scotland) but the R4 signal from N Ireland gets better as you go south. It’s even worse indoors at home. I made a half-wave aerial from coax in white plumbing pipe fitted to the pushpit and it does help get signals to the boat’s “car” radio.
