Good looking MB&Y this month (Oct2109).

The advert on the back page is odd, it seems to me, as Princess are flying their House Flag from the Ensign Staff......

Never seen that before anywhere.

Ensign aft, or on the Gaff (mast mid - ship) if at sea, and house flag on stbd side if no courtesy flag flown or For'd .

Ensign staff for National ship registry Flag surely???

or have Princess declared Devon as an independent state under Britexit??

No???

Maybe the ad photos are used in other markets where being seen as British isnt a help? Or maybe they're doing a British Airways and purging the union jack from their marketing in an effort to be seen as 'global' (as so annoyed Mrs T) Or far more likely, some ad agency bloke with pink hair and a yellow bow tie thought it was a great idea

Its an advert. Not so long ago it was compulsory to have as minimum a brace of semi naked tarts draped over it. Hardly a cause for flag etiquette outrage and if it was intentional as a finger to the crusties, bravo!

Mike - yep the pink hair and yellow bow tie is the answer - no one with any boat knowledge would fly that flag there or if by mistake , air bush it out.
