I saw an unusual dinghy in Cardiff Bay yesterday, and wondered if anyone knew what it was? It had hydrofoil like wings on the bottom of its rudder and centreboard, which enabled it to literally fly a couple of feet above the water. It had a bat or butterfly (we had disagreement on board about that!) motiff on the sail and hull.
Anyone know? I want one, though probably can't afford!!

Yes thats it Martin, i was out as well flying along at 3 knts under jib only when this thing flew past,it must have been doing 20 knts, it looked quite a handfull to sail though.

There was a young girl had one at Margam. always seemed to be wrestling with it, and going all over the place. Then one Sunday, it just got up and went. Unbelievable!

No good for me though - I've only just made it from under the water to on top of it. It will be a while before I start taking off........

Didn't see it when we went for a quick spin round the bay at about 3.30pm, would've liked to though it looks interesting to say the least.

If anyone happens to spot a white fender bobbing around in the bay then I apologise, it would appear to have fallen off the back of our boat on the single lap we did. Didn't realise until we got back to the berth only to find one corner sans fenderage /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Ok, so maybe our sail trim leaves a lot to be desired. And, sadly, I suppose I have to accept that there are faster sailors than us in Cardiff bay. But one day......

The wife says I'm not to talk to you anymore! Apparently I get enough stupid ideas myself without any other help!!! She still won't let me start on a little james bond style autogyro with landing floats!!!
