Does anyone know where the word/description Flybridge originated , swmbo and friends are suddenly curious .

I understood it come from the term flying bridge which is a small deck at the highest deck area on a vessel usually above the pilothouse or cabin. No doubt someone will provide a far more comprensive def shortly

The name comes from the fact that whenever you take to cover off millions of dead flies have to be swept off!
