My flybridge deck is covered with a type of vinyl material. In one place there is a small jagged tear about 1/2 inch long. Under it has developed a void about 3 inches in diameter - the vinyl has become like skin over a blister. My first reaction to repair this was to cut away the vinyl as far as the edge of the blister, and fill the void smooth to the level of the remaining vinyl. However, on reflection, I worry that the join between the filler and remaining vinyl will not be durable, will look bad, and may open to let more water under the vinyl. Any alternative suggestions for repair gratefully received.
