Fly bridges in the UK

There are boats that appear never to leave the marina - of all types.
The motor cruiser opposite mine hasn't moved since 2015 and a yacht just down the way hasn't moved in 10 years.

There are parallels between boats and caravans
But flybridges are not usually found on caravans
I think one of the reasons a lot of boats don’t go out much is that we are all old, some very old, and unfortunately that often is accompanied by poor health?

Jeremy Clarkson managed it too!

Sadly lacking gumption! After my heart issues and between surgeries I wasn't allowed to be more than 30 minutes from a hospital so Admiral stole my boat and car keys and hid them. Too bad she didn't take my wallet too because when she wasn't watching a quick taxi to the quay at the beginning of the flood allowed the dink to drift up river several miles and then back down again with the ebb while I enjoyed a good book and a picnic full of DAS VERBOTEN's. Ya it was worth it!

Post 84 was a joke. Not a side-splitter, but it can't be possible you didn't recognise the attempt at humour.

My earlier enquiries were perfectly genuine, until the upwelling self-mockery on the part of members here, spilled over.

It is strange - and sad - that groups who know their own area well, are so cynical of anyone asking questions.
.

If you mean 70, then thank you...apologies again, if you were addressing Bouba, who was indeed funnier...

...I hope I was only echoing the tone that had arisen, and from which I had learned plenty.

70 ya! It was a call to arms that Bouba couldn't resist. Of course he's been masterful in his trolling of the Med crowd of late, what with his Wish You Were Here pics. There is a smug "in your face" relish to his latest posts wouldn't you agree?

It's just as well his pasarel has been reinforced in. Somebody may have been tempted to use it on him.

Lordy, I hadn't realised there was any back-story here (I'm sail-driven and confined to the Solent, so just dreaming of what could be).

A flybridge still looks good to me - but mainly because its presence means there's an inside helm too, and an escape from foul weather.

Not that one wants only to be indoors.

Have you ever partied on a flybridge boat?
The flybridge is just one of the entertainment areas.
Our galley serves three entertainment areas - the saloon/dinette, the cockpit and (via the internal stairs) the flybridge.
If ever you are out in Sant Carles, you will be welcome to join one of our parties!!
The welch mob are on the way.

That would be funny, if I hadn't tried it.

Tarpaulin over the boom as the only escape from a drenching. You see why I'm looking at alternative boating realms.

My motorboat has a sailing boat inside it - a dinghy with all the other water toys!
The boom is a bit small to put a cover over but you can stretch out and enjoy a nice G& T whilst sailing it.
Well, thats what the Med is about.

Interesting - I once set up a visit for a group of motorboaters to visit Sant Carles for a long weekend.
I got our marina manager involved as well - the plan was to have some fun with the idea of getting them hooked on moving to the sun.
For various reasons, it didn't happen.
Some people even say that we should keep our little paradise a secret but I'm sure our marina manager would entertain something like that again.

I'll be the last time if the whole contingent arrives. Last time we were altogether the water rozzers were called to quell the party. Roy is particularly rambunctious after a 3rd bottle

You are a very naughty boy. Always do as your wife says. I do? (no, I don’t know your wife?)
