Any idea if the Nasa MArine heading sensor outputs NMEA??

Or does it just output its own talk for the compass.

I have looked at Nasa Marines online pages, but they don't say ye or ne.

If its NMEA it should be able to be connected to other instruments requiring heading valus.

I was told by a Raymarine guy at S'ton Show, that if you want radar to work properly you must have a "fast heading sensor" anyone know how fast is fast?

More than twice a second?

Just curious as don't have radar - yet /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, around 5Hz is the minimum for decent MARPA performance, and 10Hz is better.

If you invest in a heading sensor, it will only give you the results you are looking for if it is a "fast" one, 10 hz being perfect.
