Fluxgate errors

Anyone experienced this... My Autohelm (Raymarine) ST6000+ is reporting wildly changing compass reading from the fluxgate compass (and Autohelm ST100 control unit). It varies 60 - 100 degrees and eventually settles down around 20 - 30 degree off. I have had a look inside and the gimbal is fine. Not much to it really. However it is useless at the moment. Not very good for an autopilot.

Any views

ps - I have removed all possible electronic / electrical objects from around it.

Try phoning Raymarine on 023 9269 3611, wait for the reception, and ask for UK technical department. They know what they are talking about, as I've/they've sorted out a problem quite recently.
