Does anyone know if you can buy flushing muffs for the Yamaha 2B outboard?
If so where, please? I've tried a Google search with no result.

So far I have run it in a dustbin full of water but it's a nuisance taking it home to do it, so it doesn't get done as often as it should.

Yamaha list a couple of sizes of muffs

but even the smaller, part ABB-FLUSH-JD-00, is only listed for engines from 3hp to 15hp.

Maybe then not possible to successfully fit muffs to such a small engine However it might be worth taking a look at the above at your Yammy dealers

Maybe because it's permanently in gear, they don't encourage using muffs?
I take the prop off mine before running it in a plastic bucket. Only takes a pair of pliers to pull a split pin.

Is it possible that it does not have the water intake on the side of the shaft next to the prop and above the gear case but has the impeller located in line with the prop so its not possible to put conventional muffs on such a small engine. Hence running in a bucket possibly with prop removed is the best option to flush.
