Flushing a fuel polishing rig?

We don't really get diesel bug up here but I brought my boat up from
The south coast and it has a case of it. I built a polishing rig with a clear glass mesh filter - cav filter- pump and have been flushing the tanks with it.
Now I want to use it on another boat for a friend and I doubt he has bug just dirt he wants flushed, the filter element will be new and mesh cleaned and il run it on my boat with marine 16 first but don't want to pass on the bug, can it be flushed with anything prior to use the bug doesn't like, petrol?

The bug will be present in most bunkered fuels, but no doubt the colder temperatures keep it at bay. It isn't like catching measles.

When I worked for ICI we sold Caustic Soda Liquor by the tanker load for the cleaning of stuff, remover the filter and run that through the system a few times then flush through with water, new filter and you should be fine.
