Thank you for your kind offer Vic. I'm beginning to think that you're right; perhaps there's a reason that the lead flotilla crews favour certain establishments.
There definitely is an arrangement - the lead crews have been pretty open about it on the two Ionian flotillas I've been on. I have no idea how much the crews or restaurants benefit but I certainly don't begrudge either given the current situation in Greece. Remember the idea of a flotilla is to make it all as easy and stress-free as possible and I've always had cheaper and usually slightly less convenient alternatives offered when I've asked. Sometimes it's nice for the two of us to get away for a quiet meal on our own but usually the crews are expected to find a place that's very near somewhere half a dozen inexperienced skippers can moor up and can cope with 20 odd people arriving at the same time, also coping with the inevitable British children who will only eat fish-fingers and baked beans or whatever. Inevitably that means you don't usually get to go to the more remote and special places you might when cruising on your own.
