That sounds scary especially with the rivers as high as they are already. I am off to check my boat at Rossiters in about 10 mins. I will let you know what it looks like.

Did you see the footage on the regional news earlier? The waves were nearly over the sea wall around the harbour at Weymouth - definitely no fisherman on there today. The view from Portland Bill was awesome.

FWIW, I went down to Rossiters last night, as well as Mudeford Quay. The Quay was wild - the first two rows in the carpark were awash, with spray flying right across to the dinghy park. The slip was completely underwater at 9 last night, and that was not the highest of the high water (that should be around 10 this morning).

Rossiters and the river were predictably more sheltered, but very high water (the west bank of the pool was underwater, and I had to wade to get to the pontoon). The wind felt predominantly SE last night, FWIW, so anyone on the trots or swinging moorings in the harbour will have had a rough time of it.
